Neuse Correctional Institute is a medium-security correctional facility located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. It was opened in 1994 and has a capacity of approximately 1,200 inmates. The facility houses both adult male and female offenders, although the majority of its population are male. The prison offers a variety of programs and services to inmates, including educational and vocational training, substance abuse treatment, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. The prison also operates a work-release program and partners with local businesses to provide job opportunities for released inmates. Neuse Correctional Institute is operated by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.
